Integrating Multidisciplinary Team Approach into Managing Complex Pain Patient
Key Content
The patient presenting with complex musculoskeletal pain, can be challenging and resistant to physiotherapy management or uni-modal treatment. With sound diagnosis, based on biopsychosocial reasoning, a multi-modal management can better allow the patient to regain some of his lost functions and abilities. Multi-disciplinary approach demands much coordination and requires cross disciplinary knowledge and skills.
This course is designed in a workshop style format and is based on 1-2 case studies on musculoskeletal spinal pain. Participants would expect an interactive session. This will include an examination of the biopsychosocial dimensions of pain management, the patient-specific considerations, and a series of short practical sessions of pain management skills.
